Boston TragedyPosted: April 15, 2013
I will lift my eyes unto the hills, from whence does my help come. My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1
Our prayers this day are for those who were in harm’s way this day in Boston at the sight of the finish line of the Boston Marathon. We pray for those families who have lost loved ones. We join our hearts in prayer for our all who are responding to this tragedy and pray for strength.
We stand in shock and fear creeps in. As we seek to make sense out of this tragic moment in Boston, may the peace of Christ be in us. Let this be a reminder to us that the call of Christ is ever before us to live faithful lives and that we continue to live in a world that is broken.
To that end our task is unending as we pray, “Thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.”
I invite each congregation in the Nashville Area of the United Methodist Church to offer prayers on Sunday, April 21, 2013 for all victims of this tragedy as well as for those who caused this tragic event. May we pray for the spirit of Christ to transform our World.
